UPDATE: 
As of March 7, 2022, despite the relaxing of COVID restrictions, in the U.S., 38 states allow private businesses to mandate the vaccine for employees. 28 states allow private businesses to require proof of vax for their customers. 12 states have a digital app available to show proof of vax. An additional 13 states are either already using or developing the underlying technology to provide digital vax credentials, including 5 that have publicly banned showing proof of vax status.  [1] [2] [3]
